Biography

Miriam Morgan-Skinner, APRN, DNP is a board-certified nurse practitioner. She earned her medical qualification from Andrews University and completed her advanced training at Andrews University.

At Lake Michigan Nephrology, Dr. Morgan-Skinner supports the care of patients with kidney disease, specializing in nephrology and wound care. She is an active academic leader who chairs DNP dissertations and has published research regarding factors contributing to 30-day hospital readmissions. Dr. Morgan-Skinner is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), the American Nurses Association (ANA), and the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses Society (WOCN).

Dr. Morgan-Skinner’s care philosophy is grounded in compassion and respect: “My philosophy of care stems from a belief that every individual deserves to be treated with compassion, respect and dignity regardless of their socioeconomic background. It is rooted in a patient centered approach incorporating a multidisciplinary team that values empathy, practices active listening and provides a supportive environment.” Outside of the clinic, she serves as a greeter and deaconess at her local church and enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
