Biography

Katherine Kwon, MD, FASN is a board-certified nephrologist. She earned her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine; completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Virginia; and specialized further by achieving a fellowship in nephrology at the University of Virginia.

At Lake Michigan Nephrology, Dr. Kwon provides comprehensive care for patients with kidney disease, with clinical interests that include diabetic kidney disease, cardiovascular metabolic syndrome, hypertension, and IgA nephropathy. She is dedicated to medical education and teaches residents through the local hospital’s program. Dr. Kwon is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology and serves as the secretary-treasurer for the Renal Physicians Association.
